WHEW, ITS OVER

I guess its my turn again, so bear with me.



This week was the beginning of some crazy times.



Monday started at 5 in the morning. Dad, Blake and Jacob left for scout camp around 5:30. Mom went back to bed and i was able to start my new paper route. We started our day around lunch when i had to start getting ready for work. I should mention that because breakfast was around 11 lunch wasn't until 1 or 2. For dinner mom made us some good food.



Tuesday was pretty boring, cause no body can remember what happened.



Wednesday I got to go to the temple

Thursday Dad and Jacob arrived home around 3. Jacob fell asleep as soon as he walked in the door, and we tried not to disturb my dad or ask questions about how his week went.



Friday something happened.



Saturday for once we really worked our tails off and built our playhouse in the backyard. it looks pretty cool. dad worked on our bathroom downstairs.

The family that runs together....complains

Ok, only some of them complained....but I will tell you about that later. The boys had a neat fireside last Sunday. It was about missionaries. They came home with several interesting ties. My boys seem to especially like the "sock ties" that I remember from the 80's. The stake collected ties for the boys and the young women gave them packets with the ties, the missionary New Era, a letter from the young women how they would like the boys to serve missions and lots of other mission related stuff. They seemed to enjoy it. Monday, Ry went to a birthday party. We've had 4 parties for the kids in 8 days. Monday is swimming day around here, so we went to the YMCA. It's fun, the kids swim, and I sit on the side in my chair and read...unless there is someone I know to visit with. Love Love summertime! Tuesday Blake got the rest of his brackets for his braces on. So he was in pain for a couple days. I felt sad for him, but he's a tough whelp, and survived. I went to the temple open house. It was absolutely beautiful! I am not being biased when I say it is the most beautiful temple. :) Chad got to be an usher there for a couple hours. So nice to be able to take part in all this. I handed Tanner my keys so he could take Jacob to the mall. My heart stopped till they returned home. He made it and they were all safe and sound. Hard to cut that string. Wednesday I took the kids to the temple open house. They were sad that I went without them so I went again. It was good since the first time I was so busy looking around that I didn't hear all of what was being said. I am so grateful for this temple. It amazes me that there are only one hundred twenty something temples in the entire world and we have one less than a mile from our home. We are going again on the 29th with some neighbors. That will be fun again. Thursday Tanner had work. He seems to really like it. Thursday is also swimming day. There were guys filming for the news. Reid and Rylee tried really hard to get on. I don't know if they did. I should have asked when it would be on, but didn't. Oh well. I'll never know if they are famous. Reid had another birthday party that night. Friday I had to rush home after the gym to babysit Taylor, Lindsey and Michael. Rylee was so excited to have them here most of the day. They had a lot of fun together. We also cleaned up the other dumb house that we keep throwing all our money at to get it ready for an open house they had Saturday. We got it all weeded, mowed, dusted, vacuumed, and just spiffy. Hopefully they had someone come look at it. Chad's family was all here Friday and we went to Shoshone Falls and had pizza. The falls were gorgeous. They had the water flowing really fast. Rylee said it wouldn't be good if she jumped over the lookout, because she might break a leg or something. Yeah, or something. It was a fun night. Farris and DeeAnna stayed here that night. We woke up early (for a Saturday) and went to our ward fun run. It was a 5K. Chad and I weren't sore since we've been running for a while already, but boy have Jacob and Rylee been complaining. I can't say I blame them. Rylee ran/walked almost the entire way. She did get carried on my back for probably a mile of it. Our old bishop helped carry her some. After he put her down and walked away, she said, "mom, he got me wet" (sweaty) I laughed. At least she waited till he couldn't hear. Chad, Tanner, Blake, Jacob and Farris ran and left us in the dust. Farris came in 3rd place, Chad was 5th, Tanner was 7th and Jacob wasn't too far behind them. Not bad for us Neweys, eh? Reid and Rylee and I were towards the end. But we all finished. Reid took off about halfway thru and I didn't see him again till the finish line. Funny thing about him is that he wasn't sore at all today. We figure he easily runs 3 miles a day already. What a fun week! I am loving this summer! Almost as sad as the kids to see it end. Oh, one more thing funny that happened this week. Chad got a job offer the other day. It was from an old boss of his that let him go on Christmas Eve a few years ago. He is looking for someone to manage the business and some ownership. The last we heard from him was in a letter from his lawyer threatening to sue us. We had a good laugh. hahhahaha. No, he's not taking it.

Mom's Turn

Tanner went to a fireside, so I suppose I must write myself. It's a little safer that way anyway. Reid says he'll help me. We had a fun week. Sunday Chad's mom brought Caleb and Felicity (DeeAnna's kids) to stay for a couple days. It was a lot of fun. The neatest part for me was to watch my boys follow Caleb (4) around everywhere. I wonder if he wished for space. I never even had to worry what he was doing. Monday I took them on a picnic at the park. It was all fun till someone decided to take Rylee's toys home with them. There were a couple very sad girls. Felicity thought we should call the police, and maybe they forgot Jesus. They wanted to put posters all over town, on every tree so someone will see them and bring her toys back. I didn't do that, but to appease them I did put a couple up at the park. Strange thing is, nobody called. At least Ry knows I made an effort. They were here till Tuesday afternoon when Chad's mom took them to Richfield. Jacob and Rylee also went with them. It was so quiet here, we went from 7 kids to 2. (Reid went on a sleepover) Tuesday night Blake had a sunday school party and they ended up going on the VIP tour at the temple. I am so jealous! I have yet to see inside. Melissa and I are going to sneak in Tuesday, I think. Wednesday was pretty quiet. Reid was a little lonely. Chad, Tanner, and Blake had YCC practice (for temple program) so Reid and I went for a bike ride then to get ice cream. Jacob and Ry came home Thursday. Grandma says she was so glad Jacob went, he was a big help. He got to drive Grandpa's new Tundra. Didn't even crash it. He thought you could stop by letting off the gas pedal, though. Good thing he has a few years till he can really start driving. We went to Richfield last night for Taylor's birthday. Fun week. I am loving this summer! We spend a lot of time playing together, lots more than last year anyway. It will be hard to have them all go back to school. We figured out there are only 6 weeks left of vacation. Sad day. Reid says: "I went to a party and slept on a trampoline. I went to bed at midnight. I had scouts and made a pinewood derby car stand. I went to Kimberly nursery and painted a frog. I ate lots of sugar snap peas. I got a piece of wood in my toe. I went to a park. That's all I can think of. giggle. the end. Ok, you can stop writing now...heehmmm giggle." Rylee says: "Um my brothers are funny. I'm having fun here. I like our church. I have bestest teachers. I wrote a letter to Taylor in my class. I got a bug bite and had to eat yucky medicine but it's feeling better. I'm silly all the time. I miss you guys." Jacob says: mom decided to not quote Jacob completely. (He hurt his back side while swimming) UUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHH. Well, enough from us. Hope you all are doing great, and have an awesome week.

independence days

it seems my mom has grown tired of writing this post only to have one or two of you out there publish a comment. She feels like she is wasting her time, so now i'm here to prove her wrong. if you are reading this please send $50 or more (your choice, we do accept checks) to our home to show my mom how wrong she is in believing that none of you care. those who follow through with this receive my thanks for making my moms day. (i guess maybe you could email her instead.) Now to our week I can't remember what happened monday, so obviously it wasn't very important so i won't waste your time with it, knowing what you're giving up to take the time to read this. Tuesday was canada day eh. according to our calendar we went to the library, jacob and reid had piano, i mowed the lawn and went to work, mom had a meeting at 7:00, my dad made blocks for a sister in charge of a project in our ward, and dad visited the old scoutmaster. pretty crazy day. the next day was pretty boring, all that really happened was the practice for the temple celebration, which turned out to not be that bad, considering we were actually home by 9. Thursday we left for utah. after my parents stalling all they could, and after we finished our chores, we left. we arrived at outhouse flatts and my parents dropped us off so they could stay in a hotel we feel real bad for them. they were "locked out" of the house they were going to stay in. it was a very long night for all attended. of course we got the campsite next to about 50 people, all yelling and laughing until at least 2 in the morning. i guess someone went and yelled at them, but i'm not sure it did much good. the next morning i was rudely awakened by my brothers plotting to pull the tent down on me. we broke camp quickly and drove to Huntsville for the breakfast they have in the park. we watched the parade come through and had a lot of candy and some water thrown at us. lunch was at the old Huntsville house. we wandered the park a little before my parents convinced us to go home by promising us fatboys for dinner. we waited till dark and then lit blakes $120 worth of fireworks. we live in a great neighborhood because there were fireworks in 5 directions. saturday we worked our tails off before we crashed and watched movies till bedtime. We now almost have a bathroom downstairs for those thinking of staying here. today caleb and felicity came over and now they get to spend the night for the next couple nights. So DeeAnna and Farris, They are being well taken care of. i'm sorry for whatever caleb learns from us. :)
