I am supposed to be working on a response to a mean person, but thought this would be funner. Reid's b-day was yesterday. He has been so excited. It's been so much fun to see the youthful enthusiasm I wish I had. He's been counting down for months. FINALLY it came (and went). He's 9 now. I can't believe it. He has been such a joy and a delight to our family. I read to him yesterday from my journal about when he was born. I said what a happy content baby he was. He still is! So, here's some pics of his big day. He opened presents before school, went to lunch with mom, dad, and Rylee, back to school, dinner with family, gpa and gma newey, and Melissa, then cake, ice cream and pumpkin carving. Fun day for us.

Jacob missed the last two days of school with a flu bug. I decided to cut his hair since he was here. Do you think he needed it? I told him to tell his teacher he wasn't really sick, it just took mom two days to cut his hair. He is even cuter when you can see his eyes. Judge for yourself... Blake made Jazz Band! Yea Blake! can't wait to see them perform at Christmas time. Tanner made the high school one too. Good job guys! I saw pics of Tanner's dance. I'll scan them Sunday. So.... to be continued. Blake's First Dance

i went with blake to his first stake dance last night and yes, he did dance. mostly by himself, but once with a girl. we're alive we survived the madness of many people coming within a short amount of time to the NYB yesterday. i started my old job again this week. 4 more hours till reids birthday. (written by tanner) scouts, piano, meetings, work, tis all for now.

Tanner's first date!

So Tanner officially went on his first date last night. It was Sadie's. He had a great time. He took his PSAT test in the morning, came home and she picked him up soon after. They went to the hot springs swimming. There were alligators there. He said he wasn't too afraid, of the alligator, not the girl. haha. They brought him home to shower and change into his cute shirt with his name on it. We told him that was so she would know who he was. They went to her house for dinner, to the dance for a little while and to another girls house for pie. There were 12 in the group. He had a good time, and now the pressure of the first date is off. He wouldn't let us take pictures of him and her, in fact he ran out the door as soon as she pulled up. So, Blake and Jacob took pictures through the window. It was dark, and now I have a nice picture of the screen. Chad asked Rylee if she wanted to go with him, she said, "Ew, NO I don't want to see them kiss!" hee hee. I did manage to get a picture of him by himself. Jacob was supposed to talk in primary today. The Primary President got up to give her message before his talk and started to give the same story out of the friend that he had prepared. He sure got a funny look on his face, so I leaned over to one of the counselors and told her they should just skip Jacob's talk since that was the same. But, she interrupted the president and Jacob was able to give his talk. Wasn't he relieved, he would have hated to not be able to give his talk. Knowing how much he is loving being in primary right now and all. He did a great job after all. That's enough, I'm going to sleep.

Congratulations, Blake

With Blake's 14th birthday last week came his ordination to the Teacher's quorum today. Grandpa and Grandma Newey and Melissa all came. It was awesome. So neat to see the priesthood in my family. Kinda got me when Tanner was able to stand in the circle. I am very grateful for the priesthood and the men in my life who honor it. What great examples you are to my boys, and what great examples you are to me. Way to go Blake, I am so proud of you! We had a very rough weekend, but I am so grateful for the Sabbath/fast day we had today. It rejuvenated me and helped me see the Lord in my life. Sometimes I get so caught up in the chaos I forget what's really important, and how much our Heavenly Father loves us and will guide us if we will be led. That tends to be hard for me, I like to see what's in front of me. Anyway, I am learning and hopefully there's a little more slack in the rope because my heels are wearing out fast.

Blake bday

Blake turned 14 last week. He had a three day celebration. Last Saturday he had a friend party. They started at the restaurant for brownies and ice cream then I took them to a park to play ultimate frisbee then they came to our house to watch a movie. I like the parties as they get older, all I have to do is supply the food and transportation. Sunday we had our celebration for him, well, sort of. He got to pick the food for the day and we had cake and ice cream that night. Monday he opened his presents before school. He had a soccer game after school so we didn't see him till late that night. There is a picture of Jacob excited to give Blake his present prettily wrapped in princess wrapping paper. Blake's a little embarrassed. I think he had a good 3 days. Rylee had her first field trip last week. I was able to go with her. She wanted me to since she didn't know how many days she'd be gone and was a little nervous. It was fun to go with her. We went to the library and the park. Tanner was in the Homecoming parade. He marched with the band and then ran back and joined the soccer team. We were able to see him in the band, but not the soccer float. I'll try to upload the video from my phone. so if it's not here, I tried. Jacob, Reid, and Rylee finished soccer this week. They were supposed to have their last games on Saturday, but it rained and they were cancelled. Chad and I tried to keep the happy dance to a minimum as we told them. They were sad, we were....well... done. We just finished watching the Emma movie. I think you should all see it. It was so good. Bring the kleenex. Congratulations DeeAnna and Farris. They had a new (big) baby born this morning. Can't wait to see him, and find out his name. Hope you are both feeling well, and recover quickly.
